Paul Godfrey, president and CEO of the National Post. Canwest, which has been operating under court supervision since 2009, struggled since the death of it’s founder Isreal Asper, it’s purchase of expensive acquisitions and the downward spiral in advertising revenues for newspapers and television during the recent global recession. All combined to force David and Gail Asper, the son and daughter of Canwest Global Communications founder Israel Asper, to resign from the media conglomerate’s board of directors and the company to come under control of it’s creditors.
Most residents of British Columbia and Canada are aware how BC Bud has grown and prospered in this province from it’s early beginnings in the Gulf Island hippy communites to the present billion dollar underground industry. Our bud is know the world over for it’s quality and potency. But what about the United States? Ah…yes, our friends to the north. Well fear not as they have a thriving industry of their own whether the FDA, FBI and local law officials like it or not.
It appears that the editorial page of The Province is no longer sporting the editorial cartoons of either Bob Krieger or Dan Murphy. I won’t miss Krieger’s lame at best but most of Murphy’s cartoons made me laugh out loud.
